The noise in Spike's head wouldn't stop. Didn't end. Try as he might, he couldn't pound it away with his fists. Not even with a brick wall.

He barely knew where he was half the time. He still had no inkling how he'd made his way back to Sunnydale. When he could think clearly enough to ponder it.

The loud crackling, the high-pitched squeals, the random shouting obliterated most of his thoughts at any given time. Worst of all, he couldn't make sense of anything inside his head, couldn't make it slow to a comprehensible rate.

And the faces--oh, the many faces that would appear in his mind's eye whenever there was a lull. Who were they? What did they mean?

"Get out, get out, get out!"

If he had the energy...or the courage...he'd end it all.

The reason for the closing of NaNoWriMo? A net policing organization reported the site for having inadequate moderation and being an unsafe site for teenage writers. *rolls eyes*
